Carson (Calif.) South Torrance three-star all-purpose back Davon Brown wanted to see his team make the CIF playoffs, but with a 0-4 league record he knows that dream won't come true. All he is playing for now is pride, and he's making a lot people proud with his play.

Brown said he's rushed for 235 yards, has 27 yards receiving and he's made quite a big of impact on defense the past few weeks with several big tackles and pass break-ups.
"It's been real frustrating," Brown who is 5-foot-8 and 158 pounds, said. "I've been helping out a lot on defense, because I know some people will want me to play defensive back in college."
Brown said he's beating heavily recruited by Oregon State, San Diego State, Colorado, Washington State and Oregon. He said he's picked up offers from all of the schools and he's hoping to line up visits from them shortly.
"Most of them said they wanted to wait until the season was over," Brown said. "And now that I'm about done, I think I'm going to get those set up here pretty quickly."
Brown, ranked as the nation's No. 18 all-purpose back, said he does not have a leader at this point and that the visits will be important to him.
"I want to look at how strong the program is," Brown said. "I also want to look at the facilities. I want to major in something like engineering or computer science, so that'll be things I look at, too."
