Three-star Mesquite-Poteet cornerback Aaron Lowe might be as athletic a prospect as there is at the position in Texas in the 2019 class.
Of course, he’s a Louisiana native, and a recent offer from Louisiana-Lafayette may have shook things up with his recruitment. Lowe took a visit there just before the end of June and said that he really enjoyed his look at the program.
“They have a beautiful facility,” he said. “The thing that stuck out to me is that they showed some major love. I’m from The Boot so I have no problem going back.”
The Ragin’ Cajuns are likely going to need more than just being tied to where he grew up if they want to snag him, though. Utah has come forward as the leading Power Five program to recruit him through the end of summer. Lowe has plans to take an unofficial visit there at the end of this month.
IN HIS WORDS
On Utah
“I have been dealing with Coach (Sharrief) Shah the most,” he said. “It’s been a good relationship; he’s like my brother – him and Coach (Morgan) Scalley both – I talk to them maybe every other day. Coach Shah said that he is going to start calling me on Sundays to see how my week is going and stuff like that.”
“They have been telling me about all the defensive backs they’ve been putting in the NFL; more than schools like LSU,” he said. “They have some good education options, so I’m blown away.”
