Loveland, Colo. offensive center Jeff Byers is nearing a decision after completing his official visits.

“I’ve taken all five visits,” the 6-foot-4, 280-pound Byers said. “My last one was Notre Dame last weekend.”

The other four were Ohio State (Aug. 29), Iowa (Sept. 19), Texas (Oct. 3) and Southern California (Oct. 12). The next week should bring a decision with all of the visits in the books.

“I think I’m ready to make my decision,” the five-star rated center said. “I need to sit down and talk about it with my parents. Next week sometime I hope to have a school chosen.”

In addition to the five schools Byers visited officially, Colorado, Nebraska and UCLA are in the mix.

“I have been to those three on unofficial visits, so I have been able to see them already too,” he said. “My choice will come from among those eight. Right now, I would say the schools are all on the same level.”
