“I went to USC and UCLA recently,” the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Byers said. “I had a good time at both. USC showed me around their facilities and I was able to talk to the coaches at the school and hear what they were thinking. It was a good trip overall to learn more about USC.”
Byers felt about the same concerning his visit to UCLA.
“UCLA is very upbeat about things,” he said. “The new coaching staff there is ready to get in there and make their mark. I was shown the facilities and got to talk to the coaches there too.”
The two trips were not the first for the five-star player after having visited Stanford, Oklahoma, Colorado, Colorado State, Texas and Nebraska earlier this spring.
“I have learned a lot about the schools I’ve been to. It has been a good time. I’m just trying to get a feel for which schools I should make my official visits to this fall. I’m not narrowing my list at all yet. When I get done with these trips, I’ll narrow things a little bit and go from there.”
Byers still has a few more unofficial visits to go.
“I’m looking into going to visit Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State yet this month.”
