Busy summer for 2018 QB

Colson Yankoff got a head start on the recruiting process this summer, camping with several Pac-12 schools in hopes of getting his feet wet and acclimating himself with some coaches.
The Class of 2018 quarterback from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, hit the road to compete at UCLA, Washington and, most recently, Stanford, in an effort to expose himself to the experience.

"Stanford went super well," Yankoff said. "I enjoyed the camp and I also got to see the campus. I haven't heard too much from them specifically, but so far I've heard from my coach that they, along with some other schools, definitely want to see some varsity film.
"That's why I'm super excited for the season. It's going to be great to get out there and show what I can do."
The two in-state schools, meanwhile, could be closest to officially joining the chase for the 6-foot-2, 183-pound prospect.
"Idaho is super close and Boise State has showed some interest, too," Yankoff said. "They came by to my school during the spring. I've heard from my coach that Washington is getting there, but like Stanford the coaches want to see me in games before moving forward."
Yankoff, in fact, impressed at the Huskies' Rising Stars Camp and has high interest in the program having seen them in action last year. He intends to make it to games at Stanford and Washington this fall.
"I've been up to Seattle a couple times and their camp was great," Yankoff said. "I love the campus and the stadium is obviously very cool next to the lake. I was able to talk to the coaches on campus and someone from my school, Matt James, went there a couple years ago so there's that connection."
Yankoff's father is originally from Southern California so there is interest in the Bruins. Yankoff said he enjoyed chatting with UCLA quarterbacks coach Taylor Mazzone on his trip earlier this summer.
"The UCLA camp was awesome," Yankoff said. "I learned a lot just talking to coach Mazzone. He's a super cool guy and easy to talk to."
Yankoff passed for 1,860 yards and 17 touchdowns last season.
