Ohio State’s recruiting class continues to be one of the biggest stories of this cycle. The commitment of Rivals250 tight end Jeremy Ruckert is just the latest win for Urban Meyer on the recruiting trail.

Ruckert chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin. All four schools have been after Ruckert for a long time and have hosted him plenty of times. Just in this recruiting cycle, Ohio State and Urban Meyer have beaten Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, USC, and Tennessee for major pieces of this class.

RIVALS' REACTION

Ruckert is a big time talent at the tight end position. He has very good hands and can really stretch the field. Ohio State will be able to use Ruckert in a variety of ways to create mismatches all over the field. Ruckert is more of a flex tight end and will split out most of the time but he is physical enough to be relied on as a run blocker. This is a major pick up for Ohio State and Ruckert will bring an added dimension to the Buckeye offense even though he is probably ranked slightly below where he will end up on Signing Day.
