Boyles, 6-3, 190 pounds is one of the elite receivers nationally and was recent added to the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. The athlete took his first official visit to Colorado a few weeks ago and was expected in Tucson this past weekend.
"I didn't make the trip," Boyles said. "We lost our playoff game Friday night and I was too depressed to go. I went to bed late Friday night and when I woke up Saturday morning, I just didn't feel like going.
"The car came to get me early in the morning and I told my mom I didn't want to go. About an hour later, I called the coaches at UA to apologize and explain things. I told them I was still interested in them and wanted to take the trip later in the year and they totally understood.
"I ended up going to the USC- Notre Dame Saturday night and that was a pretty exciting game. The atmosphere was electric and the stadium was just packed. Right now, USC is still saying the same thing to me, they like me but may not offer until later in the year depending on who else they sign.
"I'm not interested in waiting around for them so I'm not really looking at SC that much. Right now, I have the SAT this weekend (Dec. 2) and then the two weeks, I'm going to visit Washington and Oregon. I don't have the dates cemented yet but I think Washington will be (Dec. 8) and Oregon the following weekend.
"I have the All-American game in early January and then after the game, that's probably when I'll visit Arizona. Those schools along with Colorado are the ones I'm looking at right now."
