When Rivals.com selected four-star receiver Anthony Boyles of Gardena (Calif.) Serra to play in the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, he only had one wish.

"I want to wear No. 85," Boyles said. "My idol is Chad Johnson and I would think it would be a really big honor to wear his number on national television. I got his phone number from a coach a while back, and I'm going to call him and tell him about me being in the game. Maybe I can get him to come down and watch me. That would be a great thing."

But so is simply being selected to play in the All-American Bowl that will be played Jan. 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and carried live on ESPNU.

"I was always dreaming that I could someday be called an All-American," Boyles said. "I was telling people in the ninth grade that someday I was going to be one. When I got the call, I was really excited about it. I wanted to run out in the street and scream."

While he can project at a number of different positions, Boyles will spend most of his time at receiver for the West squad. And just like his idol, he's got a few tricks up his sleeve when it comes to celebrating after he gets into the end zone.

"I've got a special touchdown dance ready to go," he said. "I think it's going to be a great opportunity to show everybody my quickness and how good my first step is. You can't stop me when we're one-on-one. I'll go up and get the football and make a big play."

Boyles, ranked as the No. 8 athlete and one of the top 250 players in the nation, has already taken one official visit to Colorado. He's set to visit Arizona this weekend with teammate and fellow All-American Bowl selection, Da'John Harris.

"I was talking about visiting Nebraska, too, but I don't think I'm going to do that now," Boyles said. "It's just a little too far from home. I'm also looking at Washington, Oregon, San Diego State and Oregon State as schools I'd like to visit."
