Big 12 schools pursuing Houston QB

Friendswood (Texas) quarterback Jacob Karam made a significant impression on one particular Big 12 coach while on a recruiting trip through the state of Texas.
When Missouri coach Gary Pinkel was putting the finishing touches on the recruitment of Karam's teammate Will Ebner, he got the chance to see one of the state's best quarterbacks work out.

That chance meeting led to a Missouri offer this week and ensures the fact that Karam will be attending the Tigers' spring game April 19.
"I am flattered that Missouri has offered," Karam said. "They finished in the top five last season and held the number one spot as well. You can't ask for much more than that.
"They told me that I'm the number one quarterback on their board," Karam said. "The coaches say that my aggressiveness and cerebral game is a lot like Chase Daniel's. That is a big compliment."
While the Missouri staff is recruiting him, so is 2008 commit Will Ebner, who is projected as a linebacker or full back in college.
"Will was really blown away by the Missouri campus and program, and is in my ear a little bit," he said. "I'm excited to see it for myself."
Missouri is not the only Big 12 school to have offered this week. Iowa State has thrown its name into the Karam sweepstakes.
"I believe Coach (Steve) Van Meter and Coach (Gene) Chizik have known each other for a long time," father Jerome Karam said. "They have offered and we are excited to see what they have to offer."
Karam also holds offers from Houston, Rice, Arizona and Stanford. He was on Arizona's campus this weekend.
The 6-foot-1 gunslinger has thrown for over 4,100 yards in two seasons for Friendswood and 47 touchdowns.
