Big 12 offer is first for Cuba

After taking in the Texas A&M junior day, Tyler (Texas) Lee safety Tekerrein Cuba was told that a scholarship offer from the Aggies was coming. That became reality a couple of weeks ago.
Now, the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder has his first offer in hand, is looking for more, and even has a couple of leaders out in the open. The pre-evaluation Rivals100 member says that those favorites are from in-state.

"Well, A&M is one of my favorites along with Texas Tech," Cuba said. "I watch their defense and it's like the stuff we run here. Plus, I've seen A&M and I liked it there when I went down."
Cuba says that he has no other visits planned at this point other than an appearance at the NIKE Training Camp in College Station with several of the state's top prospects in the class of 2007.
As for his off-season schedule, Cuba is heavily focused on making sure the same errors aren't committed next year.
"I just want to make plays man," Cuba said about his senior season. "Last year, the whole team didn't make plays, so it's not just me. But, I know I didn't get everything done I was supposed to.
"That's going to change."
Cuba says that if recruiting interest is any gauge, Texas Tech and Houston could possibly be his next two offers.
"They're both coming on hard right now," he said. "Who knows, they could be next or it could be someone else. I don't know. I'm going to wait this thing out though before I make a decision."
