Bee Jay Williamson was one of the top defensive backs at the Rivals Three Stripe Camp presented by Adidas in Dallas on April 2 and has seen his recruitment pick up over the last few weeks.

In the days following the camp, he picked up his two most recent offers from Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech. Prior to that, the other teams most recently involved with him have been North Texas and Memphis, who both offered him back in mid-March.

“I’m thankful to pick up that offer,” he said about Southern Miss. “From what I can tell, it seems like a really nice campus and atmosphere to be in. Plus, they win games, so that’s a good school in my eyes.”

Williamson is coming up on ten total offers - picking up seven of them since March 10. Even he said the recent attention has made coming to school a more interesting experience every day.

“Some days I hear from them, it’s like ‘Bee Jay, call me,’” he said. “Some days they just come and I don’t even know they’re going to be there.”

IN HIS WORDS

On Memphis

“I was out on spring break with my family in Mississippi and they called me,” he said. “After that, they’ve been talking to me every day. I’m going to get out there and see it for myself, but online from what I could tell, it’s a great school, great facilities, and they’re rebuilding.”

On North Texas

“I liked it, the coaches were very chill,” he said. “They were really interested in me. I was out there for their first spring practice and I could see myself going there.”

RIVALS REACTION

For now, several teams that sort of all are within the same sort of lane are in the mix for Williamson, who also holds offers from teams like Texas State, Tulane, and Louisiana-Monroe. He’s planning on visiting some of the schools that have offered him this spring, but is certainly hoping that bigger offers are on the horizon as he readies for spring football.
