The summer evaluation period is always crucial because there are so many great events and so many excellent prospects are competing. That leads to a lot of movement in the rankings.

Next up will be senior seasons and the all-important all-star events as more changes will probably be coming to the Rivals100, Rivals250 and beyond.

And so we ask: Which players should enter the five-star conversation after this season?

An early look at those right outside five-star status includes Georgia commits WR Marcus Rosemy and OL Broderick Jones, Auburn RB pledge Cartavious Bigsby, Alabama LB commit Quandarrius Robinson and Tennessee QB commit Harrison Bailey.

Linebackers Trenton Simpson and Derek Wingo drastically moved up in the latest round of rankings. Cornerback Jaylon Jones, all-purpose back Chris Tyree and athlete Mookie Cooper also moved up significantly.

There are currently 27 five-star prospects and 34 players at the 6.0 level knocking on the five-star door.

FARRELL'S TAKE

We ask Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell to make some predictions on a few players who are at that four-star level and could be next to earn five-star status after their senior season.

“I could see Tank Bigsby replacing one of the current five-star running backs or adding to the number, and I can see some wide receivers like Rosemy, Gee Scott Jr. and maybe another bumping up as well. Wingo intrigues me, too, because I think he’s an outstanding athlete. It’s always hard to predict these things because of injury and players not taking the next step, but if I had to pick positions I could see wide receiver, linebacker and maybe offensive tackle adding the most.”
