Wednesday: 2021 Offensive position rankings

Thursday: 2021 Defensive position rankings revealed

The initial release of the 2021 rankings start Tuesday and there are all kinds of interesting storylines and prospects that make up the top 10.

For the second year in a row, a quarterback tops the list as Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian’s Brock Vandagriff is No. 1.

Following him on the list is Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic’s J.T. Tuimoloau, an outstanding athlete who projects at defensive end but who has starred at tight end as well this offseason.

Pickerington (Ohio) North defensive end Jack Sawyer is third on the list, followed by Corona (Calif.) Centennial defensive end Korey Foreman and Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial running back Camar Wheaton rounds out the top five.

Six through 10 is Miami (Fla.) Palmetto cornerback Corey Collier, Duncanville, Texas, offensive tackle Savion Byrd, Steilacoom, Wash., receiver Emeka Egbuka, Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s quarterback Kyle McCord and Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints Episcopal offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer.

Defensive end is the strongest position group among the top 10 but many other spots are also well-represented as is all regions of the country.

FARRELL'S TAKE

We ask Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell which top-10 prospect intrigues him the most and which one could possibly make the push to No. 1 overall before the 2021 recruiting cycle is over.

“This is a tough one because it’s so early, but I’m really interested in seeing how Tuimoloau pans out and develops. He’s so big and athletic, but yet raw. He has a chance to be a special player as a No 1 overall or a project lower down the list. He could have the highest ceiling of anyone in the country and he can play so many different positions. I think he ends up as a defensive tackle in college and beyond, and he could become a great one.”
