1) MCFARLAND RESPONDS

Lufkin, Texas, defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland said parts of a class assignment referenced in a New York Times article detailing his recruitment were "spiced up," but the recruit and his mother stood by the remainder of the newspaper's story. McFarland said he embellished a passage taken from the English paper detailing free alcohol and drugs and topless women at a party of Texas fans in Dallas. McFarland said neither he, nor his mother have heard from the NCAA since the story was published. He said he has not spoken to Texas or LSU since the story ran.
2) EARLY RECRUITING RUMBLINGS
Beaumont (Texas) West Brook Christine Michael let the cat – err, the Aggie – out of the bag Sunday when he said publicaly he was heading to Texas A&M. While it's not shocking news, Michael was originally planning on announcing on Saturday at the game. But he couldn't wait to get the news out… Also making news was William Campbell saying Michigan "probably" won't be one of the final three teams he'll chose from on Saturday. The Detroit Cass Tech five-star defensive tackle said he will pick Miami, Florida or LSU and that a Wolverines cap will probably not even be on the table when he announces… Five-star wide receiver Rueben Randle says he will choose between LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Miami and Oklahoma State. The only school he has visited officially thus far is OU. He says he may not visit LSU officially because he has been to Baton Rouge several times... Cornerback Cliff Harris says that Oregon and USC are his two favorite schools, and that Oregon currently leads USC for his services… AJ McCarron and Nico Johnson say they are both committed to Alabama but that they will be visiting other schools. Even though they are visiting other schools, both say it be highly unlikely that they would change their mind… Michigan commitment Jeremy Gallon, a running back/wide receiver prospect, says he is firm to Michigan… Wide receiver Bryce McNeal says he knows what school he will pick come signing day. McNeal is considering Minnesota, Oregon, Colorado and Clemson… Quarterback Tyrik Rollison says he is favoring Oklahoma State… Five-star defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson remains committed to Missouri but says he may still visit Miami because the Canes say they want him as a tight end.
3) A MONSTER MAN
Rivals.com has covered plenty of big players over the years, but D.J. Fluker of Foley, Ala., takes the cake as the biggest mountain of a man. He is now 6 feet 7 ½ and 350 pounds. And what's even more impressive is that he looks like he's in perfect shape. With long arms and a relatively lean waist for a 350 pounder, he looks like he could step out and play for any major Division I team now. He also has the biggest feet of anybody in the game. Check out this picture of his size 22 shoes against a 10 ½.
4) WEATHER WREAKS HAVOC
Good thing the U.S. Army and Sportslink have good travel agents. Weather and delays nationwide caused major headaches for players attempting to make it into San Antonio on Sunday. Seven players did not make it into San Antonio today because of weather, cancelled flights or missed connections. All seven are expected to arrive in San Antonio tomorrow. Then there is Logan Thomas. After having repeated attempts to get on earlier flights, he's expected to finally arrive early Monday morning.
5) ROSTER MOVES
Adam Hall has replaced Rolando Jefferson on the West roster. Hall was a standout in the inaugural Hawaii-Mainland all-star game two weeks ago. Aubrey Phillips has replaced Austin Long on the East. Phillips is committed to Tennessee, and Long is out with a back injury. Josh Boyd has replaced Ryne Giddins on the East. Giddins told his coach that he had his foot run over by a car last night. Edwin Baker will not play on Saturday or practice this week. The game doctors would not clear him because of a posterior cruciate ligament injury that occurred this fall.
