Army Bowl lands two more from Oaks Christian

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - The U.S. Army All-American game and the Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian high school football program are linked again this year.
Running back Malcolm Jones and defensive tackle Cassius Marsh have been invited to participate in this season's game - making it six players from Oaks Christian who have participated in the high school all-star classic.
Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame), Marc Tyler (USC), Chris Coyle and Marshall Jones (USC) - Malcolm's older brother - represented Oaks Christian in previous Army games.
In fact, Oaks Christian's Bill Redell has coached in the game twice.
"The event is a lot more than just the all-star game," Redell said. "It's a whole week where these kids, 90 kids, get exposed to the US Army, the men and women of the U.S. Army and military officers.
"They have leadership training and character development," Redell said. "It is a fantastic week. … It's the finest high school game in the country, and it is a very meaningful game."
Jones said he is excited about participating with the nation's best high school football players.
"Being able to know that you are one of the top 90 recruits in the nation and being able to play in this game is really a great honor to me," Jones said. "This is a great program we have here at Oaks Christian, and it just goes to show how we keep producing athlete's year after year after year."
Marsh has already begun to discuss the game with other elite recruits.
"I'm so fired up about going to San Antonio and playing in this game," Marsh said. "Last weekend we were up at Cal with Lache Seastrunk ... and a lot of other U.S. Army All-Americans. I am just fired up to get to play in that game and try and make a difference.
"It was a dream to play in this game," Marsh said. "All the best players in the nation over the last 10 years have been honored with this, and a lot of them are in the NFL now. So it just feels great to be considered that type of player."
Many players make their commitment announcements during the U.S. Army All-American game, and that adds drama to the festivities. Jones, however, made his college choice last week. He's heading to UCLA.
At one time Marsh was verbally committed to Cal, but decided to reopen his recruitment.
"I love Cal," Marsh said. "It's a great place, but we will see what happens. I have to check out other places and figure out my decision.
"LSU and USC are the other two schools that I'm looking at," Marsh said. "USC has come back and I am really starting to feel USC a lot. I have always been feeling LSU, and after I get done with everything I will make my decision."
