Arizona State lands four-star Texas defensive back Tony-Louis Nkuba

Arizona State has made a splash in Texas. The Sun Devils landed the commitment of four-star Lewisville (Texas) Tony-Louis Nkuba, who announced his pledge to the Pac-12 program following his school's spring game on Wednesday evening.

At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Nkuba features excellent size in the secondary. He has great length and plays with good ball skills. The four-star grabbed seven interceptions during his junior campaign and flashed a lot of ability and upside in coverage throughout the season.

"Arizona State stood out to me the most because of how hard they were recruiting, and they showed me the love, not just told me," Nkuba told Rivals.com.

Nkuba has put together an excellent offseason on the camp circuit. He won MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Camp in Lewisville back in January before winning the same crown at the Rivals Camp Series this month.

The four-star also shined at the UA Dallas Camp this spring versus an impressive crop of wide receivers. Sun Devils assistant Bryan Carrington prioritized the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex defender, and that relationship paid off.

"Coach Carrington has been recruiting me ever since he was at TCU. Then, he got the cornerbacks coach position at Arizona State and offered me," said Nkuba. "I mess with coach Carrington because he keeps it 100 with me. He doesn’t just say what I want to hear, and I like that from a coach."

Nkuba chose Arizona State over a top-five that also included finalists Arkansas, Cal, Oregon State, and SMU. Ultimately, in addition to the relationships with the staff, the Sun Devils had a lot to sell the blue chip corner on.

"I like the school because of the location. I like the heat, and they have a top-five business school rank," the newest Arizona State commit said. "The school has a great fan base, and the stadium is huge."

Tony-Louis Nkuba is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals. He ranks as the No. 34 cornerback nationally and the No. 57 prospect in the state of Texas for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
