Anzalone finds final home

It has been a strange recruiting ride for Wyomissing (Pa.) Wyomissing Area linebacker Alex Anzalone.
After an initial commitment to Ohio State and then a commitment to Notre Dame, Anzalone has had one more change of heart a day before he set to enroll in college.

"I'm not going to Notre Dame, I'm enrolling at Florida tomorrow," Anzalone said via text exclusively to Rivals.com Thursday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 229-pounder did not want to comment further and relayed that no further quotes would be coming.
The nation's No. 3 inside linebacker and No. 50 player overall, Anzalone committed to Ohio State in April. However, he de-committed from the Buckeyes a month later.
Following the de-commitment, speculation was rampant that Anzalone would end up at Florida, his dad's alma mater and a campus near plenty of family. However, he decided on Notre Dame in July at The Nike Opening, joining linebacker Jaylon Smith as an amazing 1-2 punch for the Irish. But things weren't over then.
During the season, Anzalone took a quiet official visit to Florida for its game against LSU and rumors surfaced that he had silently committed to the Gators.
After he cancelled his initial official visit with Notre Dame, speculation increased and a de-commitment from the Irish and a flip to the Gators seemed inevitable.
However, defensive coordinator Bob Diaco and head coach Brian Kelly worked hard to get Anzalone back on campus and during his official visit he re-affirmed his commitment to Notre Dame. Everything looked done until Wednesday night.
On Wednesday evening, reports of coach Brian Kelly interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles surfaced, raising alarm with many recruits and especially Anzalone.
After talking with the Florida coaching staff Thursday, he decided to enroll in Gainesville Friday instead of heading to Notre Dame on Saturday.
The commitment for the Gators pushed its recruiting class to No. 1 in the nation and drops Notre Dame down to No. 2.
After being rumored to be a Florida lean from the start of the process, it's interesting to note that the only time Anzalone was publicly committed to the Gators was one day before enrollment.
