Antwan Reed locked in with Penn State

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Class of 2018 offensive tackle Antwan Reed did not plan to make his college selection as early as he did, but last spring Penn State gave him a sense of home that made the four-star realize he need wait no longer. Six months later, that sentiment still exists as Reed explained recently in an interview with Rivals.com.

THE LATEST

Reed is in the midst of his senior season, leading an 8-0 Muskegon Big Reds team. He plays left tackle on an offensive line that also features a highly-recruited 2019 offensive lineman in Anthony Bradford. Reed expects to take his official visit to State College in December, but may not sign until the February signing period opens. He is in regular contact with the Penn State coaching staff and maintains a close relationship with that group.

IN HIS WORDS

“I closed down my recruitment when I felt I was committed. I like what they are doing right now because they keep on battling each week.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Although Penn State has seen more than its share of commitments leave the class in 2018, there has been little concern over the strength of Reed’s commitment and there should not be any going forward. The Rivals250 prospect looks all of his listed 6-foot-6 and 323 pounds and he moves very well for his size. One thing he mentioned stressing this year was increasing his intensity, and that continues to be a growth opportunity. The athleticism and size are there, but he can improve by learning how to better dominate.
