ACC battle for Frye

Three-star safety Alex Frye out of Fayetteville (N.C) Jack Britt appears to have narrowed his list to two. Which two schools is the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder down to and what does he like about each program?
"I believe he's down to Wake Forest and Virginia," said Jack Britt head coach Richard Bailey. "I know East Carolina is still recruiting him and he's got offers from other schools, but he seems to be down to those two if I had to guess.

"I know Wake Forest is making an in-home visit this week and they'll probably be setting up an official when they stop by. He likes them because he knows coach Dean Hood and is very familiar with the school and has a certain comfort level there. He likes Virginia because he has family up in Maryland and they are also in the ACC with a nice stadium atmosphere. Both schools he can't go wrong with the academics either."
Previously Maryland was very high on Frye. What happened with the Terps?
"Maryland told me recently that they were not going to offer Alex and were not going to take a safety in this class," he said. "That fell through and I really think he would have gone to Maryland if they offered."
Bailey expects the No. 26 prospect in North Carolina to make a decision sometime early in January.
Frye was named all-conference wide receiver and defensive back this season as he accounted for 50 tackles, four interceptions and 10 pass breakups.
