A few stand out for Burrell

At the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge Presented by Under Armour, Matthew Burrell Jr. admitted that a few schools are piquing his interest.
"Notre Dame is definitely a stand out," said the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Burrell. "Alabama, Ohio State and Arkansas are also standing out right now.

"Ohio State is a great school," he said. "They have a lot of commits and I'm hearing a lot of good things. I know that Jalyn Holmes committed. Damian Prince took a trip up there and I'm hearing a lot of good things about Ohio State. I'm trying to have a lot of contact with them. Coach Smith is trying to get me to come out there. Whenever we talk it's a good conversation.
"I've know Coach Booker from Notre Dame is taking a hard look at me," Burrell said. "He's been in my school, watched my film and seen me grow so I'm making sure I keep in touch with him. The older I get the more that relationship really counts."
The offensive tackle from Woodbridge (Va.) C. D. Hylton has yet to take any visits outside of the state of Virginia and he doesn't see that changing before football season.
"I might take some visits before the season starts," he said. "I might head down to Virginia Tech but that would be about it."
Burrell played for Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor last season with Virginia commit Steven Moss but has transferred to C. D. Hylton and is focused on preparing for the upcoming season with his new team.
"Hylton is wonderful," said Burrell. "Everyday and night there are workouts or film sessions. I need to get used to the schedule. I've played with the kids before but I'm just trying to get familiar with them again.
"Virginia is one of the programs I'm very familiar with," he said. "Coach Watkins is a great guy and Steven is a great friend but when it comes to having a favorite, I'm still going to make my own decision and make my own path."
There are a few schools that Burrell is looking forward to hearing from.
"I would love to have more contact with Florida, Georgia, LSU and Florida State," he said. "I've been in touch with them but I still don't have those offers. I really want to get out West and maybe get an offer from USC and some other PAC 12 offers."
Burrell was one of the top underclassmen at the Richmond RCS.
