5-star DE Xavier Thomas insists he has no leader, reiterates Dec. decision

Class of 2018 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG five-star defensive end Xavier Thomas has been the subjective of quite a bit of speculation as of late, including whether Clemson or South Carolina has the edge in his recruitment. The South Carolina native is widely believed to end up at either one of the Palmetto State programs but the nation's No. 3 overall prospect took to Twitter on Saturday to clarify that he's nowhere close to making a commitment.

Following the conclusion of his junior season Thomas transferred to IMG Academy in Florida and has taken a measured approach to his recruitment ever since. Regardless, Clemson and South Carolina appear to be locked in a battle for Thomas that will continue all the way until his December decision date. Other schools that might play a factor include Alabama, Florida and Florida State.

Thomas made an unofficial visit to Clemson on Saturday along with several other IMG Academy prospects.
