4-star LB David Reese on The U: "Something's going down in Miami"

The Latest: Class of 2018 four-star linebacker David Reese is quickly becoming on of the nation’s most pursued prospects, with major programs adding to his list on a regular basis. But a program very close to home, Miami, has already made quite an early impression. Rivals.com caught up with Reese at the recent Orlando stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas to talk about the Hurricanes and his recruitment.

In His Words: “I went to Miami a few weeks ago for junior day. Other than that I’ve just been going to camps really. I get a lot of love from all the schools. The visit to Miami was good. I got to build a better relationship with the coaches and I got to get to see the campus more. It was just a good experience, no pressure or anything, just chilling and enjoying myself.”

On the Miami coaches: “Coach Manny Diaz is my main recruiter. He’s a great guy. He has my best interests at heart and he just really shows true love. Not just wanting me to be there and do me any kind of way.

On his fit in the Canes scheme: “They said they would use me everywhere. They love my athleticism and my ability to play all over the field.”

On Miami’s hot start in recruiting: “I’ve been seeing it. Something’s going down in Miami. I think they’re getting it back. It caught my attention and it’s something I’ve been thinking about.”

On other visits going forward: “I know I want to see Oregon, Tennessee, Florida.”

Rivals Reaction: “Reese has quickly become a national prospect and a guy that will likely want to venture out before he makes a commitment. With that being said, the Hurricanes have clearly made a strong early impression and currently sit as the team to beat. Reese’s feedback after future visits as well as how often he’s in Coral Gables in the coming months could be an indication of where he will eventually end up.
