Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier quarterback Chase Herbstreit committed to Michigan on Sunday afternoon. Herbstreit is the son of ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback will join Bryce Underwood as the second quarterback in Michigan's recruiting class.
The younger Herbstreit will be on full scholarship at Michigan. This season for St. Xavier, Herbstreit threw for 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed for 649 yards and eight scores on the ground.
Herbstreit joins a Michigan class that surged late in the recruiting cycle and sits in the No. 7 spot in the Rivals team recruiting rankings. Rivals broke down the Wolverines’ class here.
