2023 Stock Risers: State of Tennessee
Every year there are seniors that have breakout seasons on the gridiron which translate to new offers from power five programs. Rivals.com takes a look at five prospects in the state of Tennessee that are now on the national radar.
Arion Carter, LB, Smyrna:
- Carter's senior film has drawn the interest of nearly every major college program in the country this fall. Now, the newly-minted four-star prospect has official visits set with four programs - LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Alabama - throughout October and November. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect has already taken two game day trips to Alabama and also visited Tennessee for a game earlier this season.
Chance Fitzgerald, WR, Nolensville:
- Fitzgerald is another senior that has seen his recruiting process soar in the last three weeks picking up new power five offers from Louisville, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Wisconsin, Auburn, Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, and others. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect recently took visits to Virginia Tech and Louisville and will have plenty of options to think about as signing day draws closer.
Barrett Maddox, OT, Clinton:
- Kansas was the first power five offer to come through for Maddox on September 28th, then UCLA jumped in with an offer on October 13th. Auburn and Florida are also expressing interest in the three-star prospect, who already holds nearly 30 total offers. Maddox will be at UCLA this weekend to watch the Bruins play Stanford.
Bryan Longwell, LB, Lipscomb Academy:
- Longwell has put together a stellar senior season for a Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.) team that has drawn national attention and is ranked within the Top 25 nationally. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound prospect has tallied 64 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 16 tackles for loss this season. Longwell had plenty of group of five offers on his resume - Ohio, Tulane, Appalachian State, Western Kentucky, Army, Memphis, and others among them. However, Auburn became his first power five offer on Wednesday and it wouldn't be a surprise to see more follow.
Demitrius Bell, WR, McGavock:
- Bell may not necessarily classify as a "stock riser" among this group, he's been a high-touted prospect for a while. However, the four-star prospect broke away from his Michigan State pledge in August and now has four SEC programs standing out in his recruitment - Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Kentucky. Bell just took an official visit to Kentucky earlier this month and picked up a new offer from Georgia back in September. He plans to make return trips to Ole Miss, Georgia, and possibly Alabama throughout the rest of the season before making his decision.
