It's pretty rare for a prospect to commit after just one season of high school football, but that's exactly what Class of 2022 receiver Syveion Ellis did when he pledged to the Gators back in the spring. Despite three more years of high school football ahead of him, Ellis saw all he needed to during multiple trips to Gainesville and couldn't wait any longer to join the fold. In the nearly four months since, Ellis has been back multiple times and continues to stay solid to UF. Rivals.com caught up with him to talk about his relationship with school since committing.
IN HIS WORDS
"I committed to Florida back in April at the spring game. They just had everything I was looking for so I figured why wait. It's close to him, my mother can come see me play every Saturday, it's just like home, I get love from the coaches and I can come in and play and have a big impact on the team."
Gators fans: "They've been great. They love me. I picked up a lot of Gators followers and they're always telling me how great it is."
Visits to campus: "I've been down there a lot and they're always showing me major love. Every time I go I get more love than I did the last time."
Coaches: "I'm just working on building the relationship with them and building that bond. I'm still getting to know them and that's a big part of it."
Other schools in the mix: "Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, N.C. State and a few others are talking to me."
