The Latest: Like most underclassman quarterbacks Class of 2018 prospect Christian Perez has been making the rounds in an effort to impress college coaches at on campus events this summer. He's already made stops at Cincinnati, Northwestern, Purdue, Miami (Ohio) and Illinois. But not every camp is the same and not every staff evaluates equally. According to Perez, it was the coaches at Northwestern that gave him the most positive feedback in regard to his quest for his first FBS offer.

In His Words: "Northwestern talked to me after camp and I got a chance to tour campus. I got a chance with coaches as well so I feel I got the most feedback from them. I like Northwestern a lot. They're going to have a really good facility by the time I get there and I like that a lot. They told me they want to see how I do in the fall and if I do well the first few games I think I can expect an offer. I liked working with Coach McCall a lot. He's a really cool dude. I think he's a good coach and I think Northwestern is going to be really good for years to come."

On the importance of academics: "They're a good academic school and I like academics a lot. I'm a student athlete first so I'm taking that into consideration. I talked to the coaches and they said I need get my core GPA up a little more. I have a 3.0 core now so that shows how serious they are."

Rivals Reaction: Sometimes it takes the combination the perfect camp performance and the right situation to earn an offer, other times it depends on a variety of outside factors. Either way, the attention from the Northwestern coaches is a very position sign for Perez, who has FBS talent. He's a name to watch going forward.
