2008 DT gets first written offer

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar defensive tackle Reggie Ellis knows all about the recruiting process as he's watch teammate Arrelious Benn receive more attention than he could ever want. Now it's the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder's turn to begin to wade through the mail.
"I received my first written offer and it's from Virginia," said Ellis. "Coach Mike London has told my coach he's very high on me. It's the first one that you tend to remember and I'm interested in Virginia."

Ellis has had a couple of schools tell him written offers are on the way as well.
"Illinois said an offer is coming and Maryland and North Carolina seem really interested," he said. "I like Auburn and Florida State as well and they're recruiting me. A lot of the schools that came through for Arrelious have looked at me."
Ellis will be one of the Maryland/D.C. areas top players for 2008 and has no timeframe for any decision.
"I'm going to let it play out until after my season is over and see where I am then. I can see how the process can be a pain watching Regis (Benn) go through it, but I'm not in a rush."
