Zordich has first offer

The Toledo Rockets are the first school to offer Youngstown (OH) Cardinal Mooney quarterback Alex Zordich. The 6-foot-3 passer had a busy spring evaluation period, and hopes to build on the Toledo offer this summer.
"I do not know too much about Toledo," Zordich said. "But I am definitely excited about that opportunity. To be honest, I don't know a lot about any schools. Several schools came through Cardinal Mooney this Spring. Cincinnati, Bowling Green and Wisconsin came by. There was a good mix of schools from different conferences."

Several other schools are also interested, and Zordich plans to visit many of them this summer.
"I am going to Indiana's camp on Friday," Zordich said. "I am going to seven camps in all. I am also going to Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State."
Alex's brother, Mike Zordich, is a red-shirt freshman for the Nittany Lions, and a Rivals250 member from the class of 2008.
"From him I learned to keep an open eye to schools," Alex said. "He tells me to keep everyone interested in me and to be interested in everyone, and really not get ahead of myself with the process. I am just trying to enjoy my last year of high school."
As for favorites, Alex is taking his brother's advice to heart.
"I really don't have any favorites," Alex stated. "There are definitely schools it would be nice to get an offer from. I am just trying to stay open. But I would say I am looking for Big East and Big Ten schools, and a few of the MAC programs."
Alex joins fellow class of 2010 standouts Braylon Heard and Eric Franklin to form a talented team at Cardinal Mooney.
"We are definitely excited about this year. We are ready to have fun. We have a lot of experience coming back, so we are excited."
