Zook is on the prowl in South Florida

Florida’s new Head Coach Ron Zook is known for being an aggressive recruiter. In recent days that’s exactly what he’s been doing. He’s already been in the Miami Hurricane’s backyard courting legacy H.B. Blades of Plantation (Fla.)

“A couple of days ago Coach Zook came by my school and told my coach that Florida is offering me a scholarship,” Blades said. “He also told my coach that they are really excited about me. The Florida recruiting coordinator, along with a coach from Virginia, will be by my school on Monday. Right now my top five are Florida, Southern Cal, Michigan, Auburn, and Purdue.”

Blades told FloridaRecruiting.com that there’s a chance that both Florida State and Miami could move up into his top list of schools with offers. He would have to talk with both schools first and then decide. Neither school has been by his high school yet during the May evaluation period.

So far this spring his play has been nothing less than spectacular. In a 15 play scrimmage, he accounted for 13 tackles and three tackles for a loss.

This summer Blades plans on attending football camps at Southern Cal, Florida State and North Carolina State.
