Zips snag super Ohio receiver

There isn't a hotter team in the MAC right now than the Akron Zips, and the Zips snagged another solid commitment on Monday evening when they ventured into Central Ohio for a commitment from a two-way player.
The Zips have secured a commitment from Hilliard (Ohio) Darby receiver/defensive back Taylor Price. Price's mother, Kim Price, confirmed the commitment.

"He's going to Akron," Price said. "He made the commitment to them last night."
Price said he was recruited for the Zips by offensive line coach Brian Callahan.
"The coaches tell me I have a lot of versatility," Price said. "The coaches say I have a versatile body. I love the offensive side better, but I don't have a favorite. If the coaches tell me I'm a corner, then I'll be a corner."
But it looks like the two-star player will be a receiver at Akron. Even though he's ranked as a two-star prospect, Price was one of the better athletes in Central Ohio. He was also recruited by Cincinnati, Indiana, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Miami of Ohio.
Price was timed at 4.25-seconds in the 40-yard dash this summer at the Akron camp.
"I think I'm smarter as a player than what I was last year," Price, who is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, said. "I've spent a lot of time reading film, reading routes and trying to build even more field awareness and knowing what to look for."
