Zips add Ohio DL

The Akron Zips added commitment No. 19 earlier this week in 6-foot-6, 265-pound Marquinn Davis of Youngstown (Ohio) Rayen.
"I committed to Akron on Wednesday," Davis said.

There was one main reason that the two-star defensive end chose the Zips.
"I really liked the coaching staff," Davis said.
Especially the coach recruiting him, Reno Ferri. Davis said he called coach Ferri on Wednesday to give him the good news.
"He said he was glad to have me on the team," Davis said.
However, this may not be a done deal yet as Davis says he is not completely sure that Akron is where he will end up.
"I would say I'm somewhere in the middle," Davis said. "I kind of know I want to go there, but I still doubt myself.
Davis is still staying in contact with several other MAC schools.
"I'm still talking to Kent State," Davis said. "The coaches from Bowling Green and Toledo have still been talking to me."
In fact Davis plans on making a trip to one of them very soon.
"I'm thinking about setting up a visit for next weekend to Kent State," Davis said. "But I'm not changing my mind. I'm going to Akron."
