Zero to 10 in just days

Maywood (Ill.) Proviso East junior safety prospect Sergio Brown (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) can now be considered as one of the hottest prospects from the Midwest over the last few weeks. Brown, who had no scholarship offers entering the Michigan Nike Camp back on May 7th, now is touting an impressive list of offers in just a few weeks time.
"The Nike Camp has really worked miracles for me," Brown said. "I had some recruiting interest before the camp but I hadn't received any offers. After the camp several coaches started to call me and also made in school visits. I now have 10 scholarship offers from some great, great schools."

Brown talked about his latest offers.
"I have scholarship offers from Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Kansas, Nebraska, UCLA, Bowling Green, Akron and New Mexico was in school on Tuesday and they have also offered me a scholarship. Needless to say I'm feeling pretty good right now. I never imagined that I would have drawn so many offers and recruiting interest in such a short amount of time."
Brown, who qualified for the state track finals in the long jump last week, has a few schools that stand out.
"I really like some of the Big Ten schools that have offered me. Illinois is really the only school that has offered me that I've seen in person. UCLA is also a school that has caught my attention. It's still really early to even think about any favorites, plus I've gotten these offers so quickly I just haven't had time to really look hard at anyone."
Brown is in the process of sorting out his busy summer schedule.
"I'm planning to play basketball this summer as well as do my team football camp, so I need to sit down with my head coach (Aaron Peppers) and figure things out. I want to try and see as many schools in person as I can this summer."
