Young taking his time

River Ridge (La.) John Curtis linebacker Kenny Young is not in a hurry. From the beginning he stated he planned to take his time with the recruiting process and he has not wavered.
His plan to carefully weigh his options and make a decision following his senior season has not kept the colleges away. Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M are among the schools to extend scholarship offers to the Rivals250 standout. Recently he was notified an offer from Notre Dame was also on the table.

"I was actually offered a couple of months ago but I just got the word like last week that they actually offered me," Young said with a laugh. "I talked to them over the phone and I was like 'Did you guys offer me?' and they were like 'Yeah we offered after the national championship game.' I was like 'I never knew that.'"
San Diego State is his most recent offer, and with the summer months approaching he is looking closely at his summer plans.
"I think I'm going to take some trips to some schools I want to visit but I haven't visited yet so I'll take those trips," Young said. "Then I'll break it down some after the summer."
What schools does he plan to check out?
"Like the Florida schools - Florida, Florida State, Miami," Young said. "Those three, I'll also try to visit Arkansas, Tennessee, MichiganArizona State."
He is still thinking about camping at Alabama and LSU this summer and may attend a few more camps as he takes his trips this summer. He also may take a few of those summer visits with some of his John Curtis teammates.
At the end of the summer he may break things down a bit but at this point he is in no hurry. He does not claim a leader and he wants to give every school who has offered a chance to impress.
