Young likes Sooners, Hogs, Aggies

Waco (Texas) University offensive tackle Ryan Young has three schools at the top of his list. And he is still quite a ways from a decision.
“I really like Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas A&M,” the 6-foot-6, 303-pound Young said. “Those three have offered me scholarships.”

Young, a four-star rated player, does not favor one school over the other two.
“I like Oklahoma’s tradtion, academic programs, and the coaches,” he said. “If football doesn’t work out, I still have a degree I can do something good with. Texas A&M has a great tradition too. That is the biggest thing about them. They are right there with Oklahoma in terms of tradition. And Arkansas is rebuilding. They will have a good football team but can still get better. I would be able to go there and help them start a tradition like the other schools have.
“I’m keeping my eyes open on this process. I’m not eliminating the other schools that have been recruiting me. It’s just that those three are up there right now.”
The other schools involved in the process so far are Baylor, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech and Texas. All have offered scholarships except for Texas.
“Texas is the only one that hasn’t offered me,” Young said. “They are also the only school that I have visited this summer. I went up to their camp early this summer. But, they aren’t recruiting me as much as the others.”
