Young finding time for visits

With track season already weeks old, Dedrick Young spends more time jumping hurdles than he does planning visits. Still, the Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial running back intends to find time the squeeze in a few trips. Young has already visited the campuses of Arizona, Arizona State and some extended travel could be in his future.
With six offers already in tow, he has plenty more to investigate. He already has some semblance of feel for the early stages of his recruitment, though.

See, while Nebraska, Michigan State and Utah have entered his recruitment and are in frequent social media contact, finding a way to wrestle Young away from the West Coast may prove difficult. Then again, it's too early to say anything for sure.
"I think I want to stay kind of close, but I don't really know," Young said. "If I like a school that much, I'll go there no matter where it is."
Young's most recent trips came to in-state programs Arizona and Arizona State. He attended a junior day on each campus and took in the sights. Asking him what the greatest difference between the schools is, however, yields a somewhat muffled response.
"The biggest difference is that Arizona is a little more upgraded because ASU hasn't redone their stuff yet, but that's really about it," Young said. "They're both really nice schools."
Next up will be a trip across state lines in an effort to view a schools he's never seen a person - a school which he's seemingly heard plenty about.
"I think I'm going to go to Cal's junior day," Young said. "I decided that a couple weeks ago. I know a little about them. I know they have good academics and I hear they have a really nice campus."
Young has set no timetable for making a verbal commitment. Instead, he says he'll make a decision "whenever it feels right."
