Young holds an offer from the Bulldogs.
"State has offered, but I'm not sure about Alabama right now," Young said. "They told me they would get back with me. I talked with State on Sunday and an Alabama coach came to my basketball game last Thursday."
The fact that MSU has an offer on the table gives currently gives the Bulldogs the edge.
"State is my leader right now because Alabama is just evaluating me," he said.
J.B. Grimes is recruiting Young for Mississippi State.
He took an official visit to Starkville last weekend.
Young is a high (5.4) two-star rated prospect according to Rivals.com. He projects as a wide receiver, but also could play linebacker or safety in college.
