Yarnway excited by latest offers

San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral running back Dasarte Yarnway had a good 24 hours landing two more scholarship offers. Both offers are intriguing to the athlete as he landed his first offer out of the Big 12 and yet another Pac 10 offer.
Yarnway, 6-0, 215 pounds has been one of the state's top backs since his sophomore year. He earned all-state underclass honors for the second year in a row this past season after rushing for 1,408 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Yarnway currently has offers from Cal, Oregon, Arizona State, Washington and Washington State. Now you can add two more to the list.
"Colorado offered me yesterday and today, UCLA offered," Yarnway said. "I talked to Coach Helfrich at CU and he seems like a really good guy. They also offered my teammate Kevin Greene and are talking about wanting us to be a package deal.
"The UCLA offer is really intriguing and I had a long conversation with the coaches today. Coach Ganz is the one recruiting me. He emailed me and told me to give him a call.
"I called him up and talked to him, Coach Moses, the running back coach and Coach Neuheisal. They said they were watching a ton of running back film and liked mine better than anyone else they had seen so far.
"I don't think they've offered that many other running back other than Cierre Wood so it was special getting the offer. Coach Moses said they consider me a triple threat because I bring size, speed and elusiveness to the table and they said it's tough to find all three qualities in one running back.
"I've never been to UCLA before but I'm going to take an unofficial visit there in late June. I talked to my coach about them and he said the area around UCLA is really nice and I thought I would like it there a lot.
"Right now, I'm still debating if I want to make an early commitment or not. One one hand, I would love to get it out of the way so it's not a distraction during football season. On the other hand, I think it would be great to take all my official visits and see what is out there.
"I'm still open to a lot of the schools recruiting me. Cal and Oregon are way up there but honestly, I'm open to anyone who wants to recruit me right now. I'm not ready to name a leader and I just want to go through the process a little more and see how things play out."
