"I get a lot of text messages from coach Lyndon Johnson at UConn, coach Buddy Geis at Georgia Tech and coach Paul Petrino from Louisville," Yandell said. "Duke has been sending me handwritten letters and there are many more schools sending stuff."
Kansas State and Colorado also have been in touch.
In terms of an early favorite, Yandell grew up in Michigan and followed the Wolverines.
"I grew up watching them," he said. "I always followed them."
Clemson, Boston College, Auburn and Notre Dame also are on Yandell's wish list.
Yandell says that he plans to attend multiple camps this summer in the hopes that his stock will rise.
"I plan on going to a bunch of camps," he said. "I am going to go over it with some of my own coaches."
Yandell played on defense this season for a team won the state title.
"Things went real well," he said. "This was my first year playing defense. I will be playing offense this season so playing defense will help me."
To prepare, Yandell said he studies film of NFL teams.
"I did watch (defensive lineman) Shaun Rodgers a lot," he said. "I liked how dominant he was."
