Xavier Carter focused on four

One of the nation’s elite prospects has proven to be as elusive on the recruiting trail as he is in a pass pattern.
We caught up with four-star Palm Bay (Fla.) wideout Xavier Carter on Monday night, and he broke down his recruiting scenario.

“Right now, I’ve taken two of my visits, and I have two more to go,” he said. “I went to LSU last month, and last week I went to Miami. I have Florida (no date finalized) and Florida State (1/9) coming up in January. Those are my top four.”
Asked how the Hurricane visit went, Carter said: “It was fine. It went real good. I got to watch them practice and spend some time talking to coach Coker one-on-one. He said they could really use a player like me to come in and help right away.
“Terrell Walden was my host. We had a good time hanging out and going out with the rest of the guys. It’s a nice environment for school and everything else.”
He recently dropped South Carolina from his top five, stating the Gamecocks had simply slipped behind his level of interest in the main four.
“I don’t have a leader right now,” Carter added. “They’re all about the same. I want to take all my visits before I make my decision.”
Florida, LSU and Florida State made in-home visits last week. He expects Miami to return in the days to come.
As a senior, Carter, who is known as one of the fastest players in the nation, caught 13 touchdown passes for Palm Bay.
