Wyoming QB looking South

Jackson Hole (Wyo.) quarterback/free safety Blaine Woodfin had a big junior season and the talented prospect with strong ties to the Southeast is hopeful that his progress will land him back in the South for college.
Woodfin, who lived in Atlanta until the year before he entered high school, was a unanimous first-team All-State and All-Conference selection in Wyoming last season and was named to the Casper Star-Tribune's Super 25 team.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder makes no bones about his regional preference for college football.
"I really would love to go to school back in the Southeast," he said. "I'd love to go to Alabama or Georgia Tech or Auburn. Virginia is another school that I am really interested in."
Though he has his eye on the South, the programs that have shown interest thus far are located in the Northeast.
"So far, I've gotten a couple of letters of interest as a prospect from Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Dartmouth and Army," he said.
Woodfin, who had more than 1,200 yards of total offense and 17 touchdowns as a juior, believes there are several aspects of his game that should make him an attractive prospect.
"I ran a 4.6 40-yard dash, so my speed is one of my best attributes," Woodfin said. "I've been playing quarterback every since I've been playing football, so I have good field vision. I was one of the top 10 rushers for Wyoming at quarterback, so I'd like to think that I could be seen as a dual-threat quarterback. I think that's pretty much my strength. Also, throwing accuracy is one of my best attributes. Short passes, throwing 10 to 15-yard patterns, I do very well."
Woodfin plans to showcase his skills this summer.
"I'm definitely going to be going to a lot of camps this summer," he said. "I went to Atlanta NIKE Combine on Feb. 10 and that was good. I plan to make a lot of visits to colleges this summer. My dad used to be the team doctor for Georgia Tech, so I plan to visit there for sure."
At the NIKE Combine, Woodfin had a solid shuttle time of 4.53 seconds.
