WVU scores Bayou beauty

Lafayette (La.) Comeaux three-star all-purpose back Tyler Benoit might be the biggest steal in the Southeast and in the state of Louisiana. And doing the thievery is West Virginia.
Benoit, who is 6-foot-1 and 194 pounds, has committed to West Virginia, according to his coach Brian Langlinais.

“He’s going to West Virginia,” Langlinais said. “He’s going to take his visit up there this weekend, but he’s already committed to them. He just did it the other day.”
Getting Benoit is major recruiting victory for WVU. He was also recruited by Michigan State, Oklahoma state and was getting interest from LSU, Miami, Texas A&M and Florida State. In the end, this is the type of player that people might look back on in a few years and ask how West Virginia was able to snag him away.
“I think the biggest reason is that he’s going to get to play tailback for them,” Langlinais said. “He’s going to be a special player for them.”
Ranked as the nation’s No. 13 all-purpose back, Benoit has rushed for more than 2,000 yards in the last two seasons.
