According to Nelson, Mountaineers assistant coach Joe DeForest extended the offer to the three-star flanker.
"Right now my top five is USC, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Florida," Nelson said. "It feels great to get the new offers. I had my knee injury and a few teams started to back off, saying they weren't going to do anything until they saw me back at 100%."
Nelson said distance won't be a factor in his decision. He is looking for the school with the best fit and a good coaching staff.
Most schools are recruiting him at receiver, but some programs have offered him at defensive back. Nelson doesn't have a preference on where he will play.
"To me it doesn't matter," Nelson said. "Wherever the coach wants me to play or where he feels they need help at is where I will play. A few schools want me to help in the kick and punt return game too."
The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder has a similar build and body type to former West Virginia standout and St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin.
During his senior season he racked up over 1,000 all-purpose yards and scored nine touchdowns to go with 40 tackles and four interceptions on defense.
