WVU leads for Hamilton

Corian Hamilton is a 6-foot-2, 219-pound senior safety at Orlando (Fla.) Olympia. The three-star prospect holds over a dozen offers at this time but is focused on a select few.
"West Virginia, Purdue, Michigan State, Missouri, Memphis, and Cincinnati," Hamilton said. "Those are my main schools right now."

Earlier in October, Hamilton took his first official visit when he traveled to the West Virginia-UNLV game. He has a trip scheduled for November 12th to Purdue for the Boilermakers game against Michigan. As for his three remaining officials, they will be after his senior season, but he isn't yet sure who will receive them out of his remaining schools.
With regards to his trip to Morgantown to check out Bill Stewart's team, Hamilton said everything about it stands out.
"I love it up there because the type of defense they run up there, the 3-3-5, I fit into that perfect," Hamilton said. "They have a lot of safeties leaving this year. I would have an opportunity to play there during my freshman year."
On his visit, Hamilton was hosted by sophomore defensive back Terence Garvin. He also spent a good bit of time with the coaching staff, specifically his primary recruiter.
"I am talking to Coach (Dave) Lockwood the most," Hamilton said. "My relationship with him is great. He is calling me a lot, my parents a lot. We have conversations as a family and he checks up on me. I just have a great relationship with him."
Hamilton, who believes he can play either strong safety or outside linebacker at the next level, said that West Virginia does currently hold the top spot for his services but that he isn't going to rush his decision. He intends to take all five official visits before reaching a decision.
"I am going to take them and see what opportunities are out there for me," Hamilton said. "I am not going to rush it. I don't want to make a mistake because there might be something better out there for me. I am going to take my time with the process."
When making a decision, he is looking for a few different factors to help him understand which school is the best one for him.
"I am looking at the defensive scheme. I want to play for a winning program. I want to see how I fit into the program. I want a team that makes me feel like I am at home, here in Orlando," Hamilton said.
Academically, Hamilton scored a 900 on the SAT and 19 on the ACT, so he does not expect to encounter any issues with qualifying.
