WVU gives Webster plenty to consider

DAVIE, Fla. -- A standout at last weekend's Battle of the Best 7-on-7 tournament, Antione Webster remains committed to Florida Atlantic. That doesn't mean the Hialeah (Fla.) American High School cornerback isn't looking around.
Now sitting on a scholarship offer from West Virginia, his commitment to the Owls may not be as solid as it once was. Of course Webster doesn't come right out and say that's the case, but his actions certainly suggest it.

"I'm going to West Virginia for the spring game," Webster said on Saturday. "That's already set."
With months until signing day, FAU is now charged with the task of playing defense. Defending the Big 12-based Mountaineers is tough enough, and the difficulty level will increase as other schools become involved.
"FAU is always telling me that they love me and that they're happy I committed," Webster said. "I talk to them a lot."
And, still, West Virginia continues it's press. So while Webster says there is next to no chance he will leave his WVU visit committed to the Mountaineers, he's certainly listening closely.
"West Virginia really wants me up there," Webster said. "They like how I play. They just want to see me on campus right now."
A number of other schools that are yet to make things official with scholarship offers are also involved in Webster's recruitment. In-state Florida is a player. And while Georgia is yet to contact Webster, the Bulldogs could change his outlook drastically should they choose to get involved.
"I like Florida them because of randy Shannon, but Georgia is, like, my dream school," Webster said. "They have great DBs that came from there and they put people in the league."
