Wrighter hoping to turn around season
Marlin, Texas safety D'Nerian Wrighter hopes to get his season turned around as they fight through the injury bug.
"We've kind of been struggling so far this year," the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Wrighter said. "We've got several guys with injuries and that is hurting us yet. They've even hit me a little bit. But, mine is just an ankle sprain. I'm okay to go now."

The recruiting trail hasn't slowed down despite the slow start by the team.
"I've been getting a lot of phone calls," the three-star rated Wrighter said. "It has been a busy month for that. I've had good talks with a lot of the coaches."
The schools that have called Wrighter include Arkansas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, SMU, TCU, Iowa and Missouri. Most of the schools have extended scholarship offers to him.
"Oklahoma is about the only one that hasn't so far," he said. "And even they have talked about it eventually coming."
Wrighter still hasn't lined up any official visits.
"Several schools have talked about dates, but nothing is set so far," he said. "I'm sure before long I'll start to pick some dates with some of the schools."
