Wright ready to showcase his speed in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO - No player in this year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl has more connections to the game than San Antonio Ronald Reagan running back Marcus Wright.

The 5-foot-6, 163-pound Wright is not only a San Antonio native, but his father was also a member of the U.S. Army.
"It's great not only having the connection being from San Antonio, but my dad was also in the Army," Wright said. "I grew up around the Army my whole life and now I'm playing in something sponsored by them. I'm grateful for those guys and what they do."
Wright, who set San Antonio city records with 3,374 yards rushing and 45 touchdowns, committed to Tulsa this past April.
What separates Wright from the rest of the competition is his blazing speed. No athlete in San Antonio may have more speed than Wright, who clocked a 10.5-second 100 meter dash at last year's Texas high school state track meet and a 4.36-second 40 yard dash at the 2006 College Station NIKE Training Camp.
"You can't coach speed, and that's what I bring to the table" Wright said.
At this point, Wright said he continues to be a solid commit to Tulsa and he's excited to play for the Golden Hurricane.
"I like the kind of offense they run," Wright said. "It's similar to the one I run in high school. They spread the field and look for match-ups, so I really like that."
