Wright not able to make it

The nation's top defensive tackle wasn't able to make his first official visit this weekend because of the state playoffs.
"I didn't make it to A&M," Rod Wright of Alief Hastings said. "I was hoping to get to make it, but our playoffs have taken top billing for me. We beat Lamar last week and now have Pearland on Saturday in the dome."

The battle against Pearland will feature Wright against one of the state of Texas' top quarterbacks - Noah Allen. Allen is already committed to Oklahoma.
"Who knows we could be teammates someday at Oklahoma, or I could be going after him like I am this week, if I end up at Texas," Wright said.
For the record, Wright has Texas set up for Dec. 14 and Tennessee lined up for Jan. 11. He isn't setting any other trips because he might have to re-work things because of the state playoffs.
Texas leads Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
