Aliquippa, Pa. wide receiver Will Gipson pulled the trigger on his commitment to Pittsburgh this evening. The local prospect was originally committed to Ball State until earlier this month when he opened up his recruitment.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"Honestly, I felt like this was the best choice for me," Gipson said. "I didn't want to go too far from home.

"I see how they treat people and their players," he said. "I wanted to be part of that. I went to their practice today and saw how they do things.

"Coach Narduzzi was the one there that really recruited me," said Gipson. "I know a lot of the players there."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Gipson was a recruit Pitt had to have. He is a major playmaker on the outside with more speed than people give him credit for and he helps fill one of the biggest needs the Panthers have. Pat Narduzzi knows his team needs to load up on explosive offensive weapons, especially since there are very few already committed to the Panthers, and he didn't have to look far to find Gipson. Narduzzi took it upon himself to help Pittsburgh regain the ground they lost earlier in Gipson's recruitment and it paid dividends in the end.
