WR Wilkins talks spring plans

Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur junior wide receiver prospect Marques Wilkins (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) has begun to check out a handful of college spring events, starting his spring tour last week to the University of Illinois.
"I decided to check out a spring practice last week at Illinois," Wilkins said. "I had a chance to see the coaches and the team in action. I really liked getting a chance to check out how Illinois runs it's practices, plus I had a chance to talk with some of the coaches and the players, which was cool."

Wilkins, who already has an early offer from the Illini, has continued to draw mail and recruiting interest from several schools this spring.
"I've been getting some hand-written mail recently from both Northwestern and Wisconsin. Penn State has also picked things up mail-wise. I'm getting mail consistently from several Big Ten schools as well as Oklahoma, UCLA, Miami (Fla.) and Georgia Tech."
Wilkins is also hoping to check out a few more spring practices over the next few weeks.
"I'm looking at checking out Notre Dame, Michigan State and Iowa over the next few weeks. The coaches from Michigan State have been talking with my coach lately, and according to my coach the Spartans seem very interested and they have requested my tape recently."
