WR Wilkins talks Notre Dame visit

Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur junior wide receiver prospect Marques Wilkins (6-foot-1, 192 pounds) made his first unofficial visit to the University of Notre Dame last Saturday, and from the sound of things, don't be shocked to see Wilkins checking out the Irish again soon.
"I made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame back on Saturday," Wilkins said. "I came away really impressed with everything that Notre Dame has to offer, and I really enjoyed my visit there."

Wilkins, who has an early offer from Illinois this spring, talked about his day-long visit on Saturday in South Bend.
"I thought that my whole visit to Notre Dame went really well. I had a chance to watch a spring practice, then I also had a chance to talk with several of the coaches at Notre Dame after practice. I really enjoyed talking with Charlie Weis. He seems like a really good coach to play for and I also got along with him very well. I also spoke with Rob Ianello, who's my recruiting coach at Notre Dame. I dropped off a copy of my highlight tape and he said that the staff was going to evaluate my tape this week. The coaches want me to call them later this week and they also want me to stay in touch with them."
"I really enjoyed the campus at Notre Dame. Notre Dame just has so much tradition that you can almost feel it when your on campus. I also liked the fact that Notre Dame is a smaller campus and you don't feel overwhelmed by the size of the school. The facilities are also pretty solid and they are in the process of adding a new facility, plus I also liked the facilities that they already have at Notre Dame. Notre Dame is a really nice school overall, and I came away with a very strong impression of the coaches, the program and the coaches."
Wilkins, who has been getting recent hand-written mail from both UCLA and Penn State, is planning to make a few additional spring stops over the next few weeks.
"This Saturday I'm heading to the University of Iowa for a spring scrimmage. I'm also planning to go to the Illinois spring game on April 23rd. I'm also going to the Nike Camp in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 7th."
